The community Geistingen belonged to the mayor's office of Hennef , whereby the place Hennef (Sieg) was in turn part of the community. In 1885 the community had an area of ​​3935 ha , of which 2745 ha were arable, 222 ha were meadows and 591 were forest.

Residents

In 1885 there were 988 residential buildings (including uninhabited) with 999 households in the municipality. There lived 4922 inhabitants (2486 men and 2436 women). 4706 inhabitants were Catholics, 141 citizens were Protestant. In addition, there was a separate Jewish community with 75 Jews. The Catholics belonged to the parishes in Geistingen itself, to Rott and to Hennef . The Protestant community was looked after by Siegburg . On August 10, 1935, the community of Geistingen was assigned to the Rhine province of Hennef by the high presidency .
