House Oelgarten is located on a wooded hill between the Hennef districts Geistingen and Dambroich or between Rott and Niederpleis . The settlement consists of only two houses, one of which is usually inhabited by the local forest ranger . The geographical center of the Rhein-Sieg district is located near the village .

Until the 1930s there was still the “Drüchschopp” (drying shed) in Haus Oelgarten, in which leaf charcoal extracted in Rott was dried.

Until 1934, Haus Oelgarten belonged to the Geistingen community .
