Halmshanf is a district of the city of Hennef (Sieg) in the Rhein-Sieg district in North Rhine-Westphalia .

The hamlet is located at a height of 165 meters above sea level on the slopes of the Westerwald directly on the border with Rhineland-Palatinate . Neighboring hamlets are Dammig ( Buchholz (Westerwald) ) in the east, Kotthausen in the south, titmouse in the west and Köschbusch in the north.

According to statistics from 1885, 14 people lived in 7 houses in “Halmshannf”.
In 1910 there were households in Halmshanf: day laborer Johann Eich, two road workers Wilhelm Halm, farm worker Gerhard Kluth and farm worker widow Gerhard Kluth.
Until August 1, 1969, Halmshanf belonged to the municipality of Uckerath , as part of the municipal reorganization of the Bonn area , Uckerath, and thus also the place Halmshanf, was assigned to the then new, unofficial municipality "Hennef (Sieg)".
