The place name Kurscheid probably comes from Korn and Scheid, which means something like the border (Scheide) between three tenth districts that met in Kurscheid. The main donation was the grain.
Kurscheid was a sonship that comprised several places and originally belonged to the Geistingen parish , later to the Blankenberg office .
The settlement took place between the 9th and 10th centuries from Geistingen (now part of Hennef). In 1075 Kurscheid was first mentioned in a document as "cornsceid" in a letter from the Archbishop of Cologne, Anno II., To Siegburg Abbey .
In the Thirty Years' War permeated Swedish troops of the Protestant Union under General Baudissin ranging from Linz to Blankenberg wanted to go, the place and destroyed individual buildings.
In 1689, after the invasion of French troops, the Red Ruhr (dissentery) broke out in the parish and claimed many lives.
The main employer in the centuries that followed was mining , especially basalt and quartzite .
During the Second World War, Kurscheid was captured by Allied troops on March 21, 1945 after heavy fighting .
Until 1934 Kurscheid belonged to the Geistingen community .
Broichhausen, which is adjacent to Kurscheid, was merged with Kurscheid in the 1970s. The thoroughfare was then renamed Broichhausener Straße for the place name that was then dropped.
