Oberauel is a district of the city of Hennef (Sieg) in the Rhein-Sieg district in North Rhine-Westphalia .

Oberauel is located on the Nutscheid on the northern bank of the Sieg in the Lauthausen district . Neighboring towns are Auel , Berg , Bödingen , Haus Attenbach , Kningelthal and Lauthausen.
history
Until August 1, 1969, the village of Oberauel belonged to the municipality of Lauthausen , as part of the municipal reorganization of the Bonn area , Lauthausen, and thus also the village of Oberauel, was assigned to the then new non-official municipality "Hennef (Sieg)".

According to the inscription, the chapel in Oberauel was built on May 10, 1735. It was originally dedicated to the Most Holy Trinity . Today it is dedicated to St. Anthony of Padua .
