Location of hemp in North Rhine-Westphalia

Hemp is a district of the city of Hennef (Sieg) in the Rhein-Sieg district in North Rhine-Westphalia . The chapel is located in the Hanfbach valley . Today's village of Hanf already formed a village community with the neighboring residential areas Meisenhanf, Hanfmühle and Halmshanf .

history

According to statistics from 1885, 79 people lived in 17 houses in “Hannf” (old spelling).

Until August 1, 1969, the village of Hanf belonged to the municipality of Uckerath . As part of the municipal reorganization of the Bonn area , Uckerath, and thus also the town of Hanf, was assigned to the then new, non-official municipality "Hennef (Sieg)".

The hemp chapel was built in 1756. A mass is held here every month.

Infrastructure

  • From 1892 to 1956 there was a stop on the Bröltalbahn in Hanfmühle , which connected the place with Hennef and Asbach (Westerwald) .
  • From 1882 on there was an elementary school in hemp, which was later converted into a primary school.
  • A kindergarten as a parents' initiative has existed in Hanf since 1975.
  • A village festival is held annually in hemp.
