Theishohn is a district of the city of Hennef (Sieg) in the Rhein-Sieg district in North Rhine-Westphalia .

location

The farm is located in the Mitteliegtal , on the edge of the Pleiser Ländchen between the Siebengebirge and the Westerwald . Neighboring towns are Raveneck in the east, Schächer in the south, the Michelshohn farms in the east and Petershohn in the northeast.

history

Theishohn was mentioned as early as the 15th century. The diary of the half-winner Heinricus Bellinghausen (who died in 1822) describes life on the farm in the parish of Uckerath at the turn of the 19th century:

In the year 1795 the French came out on top. Since then we had to harness with the KuK (Austrians), and my servant stayed 3 days and had to leave horse and Kahr behind. And the camp had two days in Weschpohl on the Heiten. And on October 30th the French came again. We were in the bush with our children with great horror; then the French fired at the Mienschen as it is customary to fire at a bird of prey. We had buried our linen wall and lined up in barrels in the field. And on November 11th the French came again. Theishohn belonged to the community of Uckerath until August 1, 1969 . As part of the local reorganization of the Bonn area , Uckerath, and with it the town of Theishohn, was assigned to the then new non-official community "Hennef (Sieg)".
