Wellesberg is a district of the city of Hennef (Sieg) in the Rhein-Sieg district in North Rhine-Westphalia .

The chapel village east of the Wiersberg and the 241 m high Stuxenberg lies above the Lüdersbach in the Hanfbachtal .

Local village customs such as the Easter bonfire and the setting up of a Pentecost tree are maintained in the village .

history

Wellesberg used to be the center of an honor in the parish of Uckerath. It had 1742 425 inhabitants in 68 families, 1791 497 inhabitants in 88 families. In addition to Wellesberg itself, the hamlets Wiersberg , Dahlhausen , Hermesmühle , Hanfmühle , Busch , Heide , Eulenberg and Büllesfeld belonged to the honors .

Wellesberg was one of the places that were hit by the shredder around 1800 .

From 1806 to 1813 Wellesberg belonged to the canton of Hennef in the Grand Duchy of Berg and from 1808 to the Mairie (mayor's office) Uckerath .

Until August 1, 1969, Wellesberg belonged to the community of Uckerath . As part of the municipal reorganization of the Bonn area , Uckerath, and with it the town of Wellesberg, was assigned to the then new, non-official municipality "Hennef (Sieg)".
