Community center Neu-Buckow

The Protestant community center Neu-Buckow , built 1963–1964 based on a design by Wolfgang Pingel, is located at Marienfelder Chaussee 66–72 / corner of Quarzweg in the Buckow district of Berlin's Neukölln district .

history

The parish of Neu-Buckow was separated from the parish of the Buckow village church in 1962 . The building complex of the community center was inaugurated on August 29, 1964. First of all, two wings and the bell tower were built. In a second construction phase, a day-care center was built in 1968 . 1973–1974 the community center was expanded with additions and an existing structure , which contained an apartment , the community office and a youth room, was increased .

Building description

There is a low extension in front of the main entrance to the hall church . The path leads from its anteroom into the church hall and into an adjoining room, which is connected to the church room by a folding door . This means that the church hall, which can hold around 200 visitors, can be expanded by 50 seats. The walls of the nave are clad with natural stone slabs on the outside and bricks and wood on the inside. The side windows and the cross window on the altar wall were designed by H. Botzenhardt.

Bells

The campanile in front of the main entrance consists of two wall panels made of exposed concrete . In his belfry hangs a ring made of two bronze bells, which was made in 1962 by Petit & Gebr. Edelbrock :
