action
The US secret service has hired one of its special departments to solve the mysterious disappearance of the brilliant nuclear physicist Professor Runi, who is said to have died in a mysterious nuclear accident at sea. Secret agent Sennet and his superior Capt. Flannagan set out to shed light on this matter, and after a series of life-threatening adventures, Sennet ventures into the futuristic submarine headquarters of the obscure brewery entrepreneur Rethe, who wants to usurp world domination with power, money and all kinds of cruel means - He has just demonstrated to the agent who wanted to prevent it that he is by no means to be trifled with by launching an Apollo rocket: its falling wreck turns Cape Canaveral into a hell of flames. Sennet finally finds out that the kidnapped Prof. Runi is being held in Rethe's headquarters and that the brewer's employees only work for him because he threatens their relatives with death. One of Rethes involuntary helpers, the "blonde angel", who first made life difficult for the agent, however, runs over to Sennet at the crucial moment. She loses her life in a tragic argument with Rethe, which ultimately gives Sennet and the professor the opportunity to destroy the mad brewery owner's power center and to escape from it.
reception
- The science fiction film encyclopedia classifies Gemini 13 as one of the “ better Italian slapstick films that had their origins in the operetta-like technology of the James Bond series ” and points to the wise use of the film sets.
- The lexicon of international film judges: “ Utopian agent film that follows the clichés of the genre with a rambling imagination. "
- Even the Protestant film observer has a bad opinion of the film: “ Nonsense that is not burdened by any logic dominates the context in this Italian-Spanish joint production. Unnecessary. "
