Anthony Eisley , also Fred Eisley , actually Frederick Glendinning Eisley (born January 29, 1925 in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania , † January 29, 2003 in Woodland Hills , Los Angeles , California ) was an American actor .
Life
Eisley grew up as the son of wealthy parents, the family moved often during his childhood due to his father's job. He studied acting at the University of Miami and then worked at the theater in Pennsylvania. At the beginning of his career he was still operating under the name Fred Eisley and had small film and guest roles in television productions. He was discovered by a Warner Bros. talent scout while performing at the Players Ring Theater in Los Angeles . He was awarded a film contract with Warner and was cast for the lead role in the crime series Hawaiian Eye . At the instigation of the studio, he changed his name to Anthony Eisley . The series developed successfully, but in the fourth season he was replaced by Troy Donahue . He subsequently made guest appearances on several successful series formats, including The People of Shiloh Ranch , Cannon , The Streets of San Francisco, and The Badger Five . Between 1966 and 1971 he played the recurring role of Chet Randolph in the FBI crime series . He also appeared several times in the series The Boss and Police Report .
His film career, however, was mainly limited to B-movies , such as Roger Corman's animal horror The Wasp Woman , the Italian-Spanish super agent film Gemini 13 - Death Rays on Cape Canaveral and Al Adamson's low-budget film Dracula's Blood Wedding with Frankenstein . He also acted in Samuel Fuller's neo-noir crime film The Naked Kiss and in the Elvis Presley vehicle Frankie and Johnny . When his acting career stalled, Eisley worked as a stunt driver .
Eisley died of heart failure on his birthday at the age of 78. He was widowed and had four children.
