Genesee Falls is a town in Wyoming County in the US state of New York . At the time of the 2010 United States Census , Genesee Falls had 438 residents.
The Town of Genesee Falls is in the southeast corner of the county.

According to the United States Census Bureau , the town has a total area of 40.7 km 2 , of which 40.2 km 2 is land and 0.5 km 2 (= 1.08%) is water.
The eastern district boundary runs along the Genesee River and forms the border with Livingston County at the same time . To the south, Genesee Falls is bordered by Allegany County with the Town of Hume . Letchworth State Park extends into the town from the north .

history
The Town of Genesee Falls was founded and created in 1846 by separating and merging parts of the Town of Pike and Town of Portage in what is now Livingston County.
In 1876, a strong tornado struck the village of Portageville, destroying several buildings and injuring residents.
