Georg Adolf Schnarr
Georg Adolf Schnarr (born June 5, 1936 in Saarbrücken , † August 31, 2010 in Homburg ) was a German lawyer , member of the state parliament and football official .
During his legal career, Schnarr was a judge at the Higher Regional Court in Zweibrücken and Chief Public Prosecutor in Kaiserslautern . Since May 2002 he was a member of the Constitutional Court of Rhineland-Palatinate . Since 1980 Schnarr was also a member of the CDU in the state parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate from 1979 to 1996 for four electoral terms . He was the legal policy spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group, chairman of the Parliamentary Control Commission, chairman of the committee of inquiry, and chairman of the election review committee.
Schnarr began his career as a football official at FV Bruchmühlbach , where he was active as a goalkeeper and striker. For 36 years Schnarr acted as a judge of the Federal Court of the German Football Association (DFB) , 26 years of which as its chairman, and in this function he was involved in clearing up the Bundesliga scandal . From 1988 to 2010 he was president of the Southwest German Football Association (SWFV) and since July 2010 honorary president of the association. He was an honorary member of the DFB, which had awarded him the Golden Badge of Honor for his services. In addition, he was chairman of the honorary council of 1. FC Kaiserslautern .
