Georg Heimbert von Mackerodt

Georg Heimbert Mackerodt , von Mackerodt from 1738 , (* 1691 ; † 1743 ) was a Prussian lieutenant colonel and commander of the hussar regiment No. 5 .

Life

He entered the Saxon service in 1698 and switched to Prussian in 1717 . In 1718 he became Cornet in the Cuirassier Regiment (Sachsen-Weimar), in 1727 he was made captain of the Hussars , which later became Hussar Regiment No. 1 (Czettriz). On March 1, 1738, he was made major and was raised to the nobility by Friedrich Wilhelm I. In November 1741 Mackerodt became a lieutenant colonel in the first hussar regiment, which Friedrich II established. In 1742 he became commander of the Black Hussars and acquired the Pour le Mérite in June 1742 . He died in 1743 on the way to Silesia .

During his time he took part in the War of the Spanish Succession , in the Pomeranian Campaign in 1715/1716 and in the Rhine Campaign in 1734/1735.
