Georg Jacob Stockinger

Georg Jacob (also: Jakob) Stockinger (born September 9, 1798 in Odernheim am Glan ; † January 10, 1869 in Frankenthal (Palatinate) ) was a German lawyer and member of the Frankfurt National Assembly .

Life

After Stockinger attended grammar school, he studied law at the universities of Jena and Bonn from 1818 to 1821 . During his studies he joined the original fraternity in Jena and the Bonn general fraternity . From 1822 he worked as an attorney at the Frankenthal District Court , today's Frankenthal District Court (Pfalz) .

For the first time he was elected in 1837 to the Chamber of Deputies (Bavaria) of the Bavarian Estates Assembly as a member of the class of landowners. From 1845 to 1849 he was again a member of parliament and a leading liberal opposition member in the Bavarian Estates Assembly , which was called the Bavarian State Parliament from 1848 onwards. In 1848 he took part in the Heidelberg assembly and in 1848/49 was a member of the Frankfurt National Assembly for the constituency Bavaria 4 (Schwaben-Günzburg) of the Westendhall faction . He belonged to the March Association and voted against the election of Friedrich Wilhelm IV as Emperor of the Germans . In 1849 he was a member of the Stuttgart rump parliament . In July 1849 he moved back as a member of the Chamber of Deputies of the Bavarian Estates Assembly.

From 1857 to 1863 he worked as a senior public prosecutor at the district court in Frankenthal, where he also spent the last years of his life.
