Georg Lucas

Georg Heinrich Martin Lucas (born May 15, 1865 in Hanau , † April 13, 1930 in Berlin ) was a German judge and member of the Reichstag.

Life

Lucas attended the High State School (Hanau) . After graduating from high school, he began to study law at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg and the Philipps University of Marburg . In 1886 he became active in the Corps Hasso-Nassovia . As an inactive he moved to the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität zu Berlin . In 1888 he became a court trainee and in 1892 a court assessor . In 1894/95 he was syndic of the city of Northeim and from 1899 district judge in Langenselbold . In the same year his doctorate he attended the University of Leipzig to Dr. iur. From July 30 to December 1, 1906, he took part in a parliamentary study trip to China and Japan as one of four members of the Reichstag. From 1908 he worked as a district judge in Wiesbaden, from 1909 as a higher regional judge at the higher regional court in Frankfurt am Main . In 1909 he was appointed to the Reich Justice Office as a lecturer . In 1915 he came from the front to the newly formed Reich Arbitration Court for War Economics and War Needs. In 1920 he was appointed President of the Reich Economic Court that emerged from it and at the end of 1923 he was appointed Chairman of the Cartel Court at the Reich Economic Court.

He was first lieutenant of the Landwehr Infantry II contingent, member of the district committee and district council of the Hanau district and of the municipal council for the Kassel district. From 1903 to 1907 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of Kassel 8 Hanau , Gelnhausen for the National Liberal Party . In the renewed election in 1907, he lost his mandate to the SPD candidate Gustav Hoch . He published a number of articles in the journal for the whole of political science . His final resting place is in the south-west cemetery Stahnsdorf .
