Georg Peter Petersen

Georg Peter Petersen (born February 16, 1771 in Meyn , Schleswig-Flensburg district ; † October 31, 1846 in Neustadt in Holstein ) was editor of the journal Neue Schleswig-Holsteinische Provinzialberichte from 1811 to 1830 . Petersen studied Protestant theology in Kiel . In 1793 he was tutor to the administrator of Reinfeld in Holstein , Matthiesen. In 1797 he passed the candidate exam in Gottorf and became a capitular or ordained intern in Grömitz . From 1801 to 1844 he was pastor in Lensahn . In 1830 he was married to AGA Meyer for the second time. Retired in 1844, he moved to Neustadt / Holstein, where he died in 1846.

In addition to the publication of the magazine, he wrote a number of other publications, such as 1799 "Useful instruction boards for school teachers in the country", 1800 "Death in its friendliest and most terrible way", 1812 "The construction of tobacco and its manufacture" or 1819 the " Chronicle of the Reformationsfeyer 1817 in the Danish States ”in four booklets. Furthermore, in 1825 he published “Memories from the life of the royal. Justizraths Matthiesen ”, 1825, who was the first mayor of Copenhagen at the time of Johann Friedrich Struensee .

His successor as editor of the Provincial Reports was Pastor Hartwig Peters (1784–1842).
