Georg Raederscheidt

Friedrich Georg Raederscheidt (born August 21, 1883 in Cologne , † January 6, 1974 in Brühl ) was a German educator and university professor.

Life

Raederscheidt was the son of the innkeeper Wilhelm Raederscheidt. After attending the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gymnasium in Cologne and graduating from high school in 1904, he studied German, history, philosophy and classical philology at the universities of Freiburg , Berlin and Bonn . In Freiburg he became a member of the KStV Brisgovia. After his state examination in Bonn in July 1909, he completed his seminar year at the grammar school at the Apostle Church in Cologne. This was followed by a year of probation at the Städtisches Schiller-Gymnasium in Cologne-Ehrenfeld and then at the Städtische Oberrealschule in Neuss . There Raederscheidt was first appointed senior teacher and later a teacher. In 1919, the year many German adult education centers were founded, Raederscheidt founded the Neuss adult education center, which he headed until 1926. From 1920 to 1926 he headed the Neuss secondary school .

From 1926 until his impeachment in 1934, he was director of the Bonn Pedagogical Academy for the training of Catholic elementary school teachers. In the meantime, he received his doctorate in 1930 at the University of Frankfurt am Main Dr. phil. He also held a teaching position as an honorary professor at the University of Cologne . In November 1933 he signed the German professors' confession of Adolf Hitler . Nevertheless, he did not survive the transformation of the Pedagogical Academy into a college for teacher training .

Raederscheidt became head of the German Farmers College in Fredeburg in 1949 . He held this office until 1963.

He was a member of the KDB Sigfridia zu Bonn in the RKDB since 1926 and in the WkSt.V. Unitas Niebelungen in Bonn.

Raederscheidt died in 1974 at the age of 90 in a Brühl senior citizens' home. He was born in the family grave of his wife Helene. Bayer (1889–1972) was buried in the Melaten cemetery in Cologne (hall 14 (I)).
