Georg Roch
Georg Roch (born March 30, 1881 in Dresden ; † September 14, 1943 ) was a German sculptor who was particularly known for his animal sculptures. Most of his works were created together with Hermann Feuerhahn .
Life
In 1900 he began studying at the Munich Art Academy under Wilhelm von Rümann . From 1910 to 1911 Roch had a studio house built in Buckow, east of Berlin, based on plans by Bruno Möhring . The house, the so-called “Iron Villa”, was later used as a summer house by Bertolt Brecht and Helene Weigel . Today the Brecht-Weigel-Haus is located in the building . The garden still houses sculptures by Roch, the house is a listed building . Georg Roch's tomb is in Block Epiphany, Garden Block I, Hereditary Burial 35 on the south-west cemetery Stahnsdorf near Berlin.

- 1911–1912: Plastic decoration of the facades and the interior of the Stadttheater Bremerhaven (together with Hermann Feuerhahn; architect: Oskar Kaufmann )
- 1914/1915: sculptural jewelry (masks on the parapets) for the Gerickesteg in Berlin (together with Hermann Feuerhahn)
- 1915–1917: Foundation boards for the Bismarck Tower in Burg im Spreewald (together with Hermann Feuerhahn)
- 1926: Bronze relief of a lion based on a design by Friedrich Wilhelm Kuhnert for his tomb in the south-west cemetery in Stahnsdorf
- 1927: Boy with toad , bronze in the zoological garden in Berlin near the antelope house
- 1928: Meißner relief , bronze in the Zoological Garden in Berlin near the Zoomauer
- 1939: Our carrier pigeons - memorial for the militarily used carrier pigeons in World War I, in Berlin-Spandau on the Falkenseer Chaussee (25 flying bronze carrier pigeons on a 3.80 meter boulder ; bronze parts melted down in 1942; 1963 by Paul Brandenburg with only ten new racing pigeons)
