Georg Freiherr von Waldstätten (born August 24, 1837 in Karlstadt (Karlovac) , † October 24, 1918 in Vienna ) was an Austrian kuk Real Privy Councilor and officer, most recently Feldzeugmeister , and professor at the Central Cavalry School.

Life

Georg von Waldstätten, from the von Waldstätten family , was the son of Franz Georg Dominik and brother of Johann Baptist Freiherr von Waldstätten . After attending the Theresian Military Academy in Wiener Neustadt , on August 19, 1856 lieutenant in Infantry Regiment No. 39 Dom Miguel, he was admitted to the kk war school in September 1858 , first lieutenant on March 13, 1859 and already on June 15 of that year assigned to the general quarters staff in the rank of captain. From May 1, 1870, Waldstätten was a major in the general staff and professor of terrain studies, situation drawing and mapping, then head of the practical reconnaissance exercises at the Central Cavalry School.

From May 1, 1875 Chief of Staff of the 25th Infantry troops Division, he arrived on 31 January 1876 in the newly formed General Staff Corps and was on 10 February of the year as Chief of Staff in the military command in Krakow divided, on November 1, where he for Colonel is promoted.
