Georg Friedrich Bernhard Wilhelm Ludwig Ernst Prince of Solms-Braunfels (born March 18, 1836 in Vienna ; † April 4, 1891 in Frankfurt / M. ) Was a Hessian nobleman , member of parliament and captain .

family

Georg zu Solms-Braunfels came from the Hessian noble family Solms-Braunfels , which was raised to the rank of imperial prince in 1742 . His parents were Wilhelm Prinz zu Solms-Braunfels (1801–1868) and Maria, née Countess Kinsky von Wchinitz and Tettau (1809–1892). In 1880 Georg followed his brother Ernst , who had died childless, in the class rule. He married in 1878 Donna Emanuela Gallone dei Principi di Tricase Moliterno (1854-1936). The marriage had three children. Heir was his son Georg Friedrich Fürst zu Solms-Braunfels (1890-1970).

Life

Georg zu Solms-Braunfels was royal Hanover cavalry master and knight of honor of the Order of St. John . With the assumption of the state rule in 1880 he was a hereditary member in the first chamber of the state estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse and in the Prussian manor . He entered both houses in 1881/1882 and belonged to them until his death.
