George Con O'Kelly
George Cornelius "Con" O'Kelly (born October 29, 1886 in Gloun , County Cork , Ireland , † November 3, 1947 in Kingston upon Hull ) was an Irish wrestler and Olympic champion in London in 1908 in free style heavyweight.
Career
O'Kelly was from Cork, Ireland , then part of the United Kingdom . He started free style wrestling as a teenager. In 1906 he was British heavyweight runner- up behind Edward Barrett and won the British heavyweight championship in 1907.
In 1908 O'Kelly was used at the Olympic Games (OS) in London in the heavyweight division, where she won the gold medal with four wins over the shoulders in front of the Norwegians Jacob Gundersen and Edward Barrett.
