George Lyon (born June 14, 1984 in Pretoria ) is a former South African ice hockey player who last played until 2015 for the Pretoria Capitals in the Gauteng Provincial Hockey League .

Career

George Lyon first played with the Wildcats Johannesburg , which initially called themselves Wildcats Krugersdorp . From 2014 he was on the ice for league rivals Pretoria Capitals in the Gauteng Provincial Hockey League , where he ended his career after the 2015 season.

International

In 2002, Lyon was on the ice for his home country at the U18 and U20 Junior World Championships in Division III and rose to Division II at both tournaments with the Springboks . In 2003 and 2004 he played with the U20 in Division II.

In the men's national team he made his debut at the 2005 World Cup in Division III, in which he also played in 2007 , 2008 , 2010 and 2011 . In 2006 , 2009 , 2012 , 2014 and 2015 he played in Division II.
