Georgi Georgijewitsch Sljusarew ( Russian Георгий Георгиевич Слюсарев ; born September 4 . Jul / 16th September  1896 greg. , † 8. February 1987 ) was a Russian physicist and university teacher .

Life

Sljusarew studied physics at the University of Petrograd with a degree in 1921. From 1918 until his death he worked in the recently founded Optics Institute (GOI) . He also gave lectures at the University of Petrograd and then Leningrad (LGU), the Leningrad Institute for Film and Television (LIKI) and at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MFTI).

Sljusarew led the development of telescopic systems , Aerial photo objective , solar simulators for testing of equipment for use in space and spectroscopes for the big Altazimuth - reflecting telescope BTA-6 of Selentschuk Observatory . He developed methods for the planning of optical systems based on the third-order aberration theory . Together with AI Tudorowski he developed Fresnel zone plates .

In 1935 Sljusarew received his doctorate in physical-mathematical sciences . In 1937 his textbook on the methods of calculating optical systems was published. In another book he discussed the reversibility and irreversibility in optics and the resolution limit of optical systems. In 1946 he was appointed professor. 1946–1948 he headed the chair for physics and optics at the LIKI.
