Gerhard Bauer (politician, 1958)

Gerhard Bauer (born 1958 in Heidenheim an der Brenz ) is a German non-party local politician. Since 1 January 2004 he has been district administrator of the district of Schwäbisch Hall .

Life

Bauer attended elementary school and high school in his native Heidenheim . After graduating from high school in 1977, he studied law at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen . In 1985, Bauer passed the first state examination and, after completing his legal clerkship at the Tübingen Regional Court in 1988, the second state examination with distinction . After completing his studies, he worked as a lawyer in Stuttgart with a focus on public and private construction law .

From 1991 to 1994 Bauer was head of social affairs in the Rems-Murr-Kreis district office , and for two years he also worked as head of public order. He then moved to the Stuttgart regional council as a speaker with responsibility for planning approvals and expropriations . In 1995 he became the first state official in the Schwäbisch Hall district . From 1993 to 2003 he also worked as a part-time lecturer in general administrative law , youth welfare and social law at the University of Public Administration and Finance in Ludwigsburg . On October 14, 2003, Bauer was elected by the district council of the Schwäbisch Hall district to succeed Ulrich Stückle . He took office on January 1, 2004. On October 4, 2011 and October 8, 2019, the district council confirmed him for a further eight years in his office.

Bauer is Protestant and has two children.
