Gerhard Briksa
Gerhard Briksa (born November 18, 1924 in Berlin ) is a German politician. He was Minister for Trade and Supply in the GDR .
Life
After attending elementary school from 1941 to 1942, the son of a businessman completed a non-commissioned preschool and was a volunteer non-commissioned officer in the German Wehrmacht from 1942 to 1944 . From 1944 to 1948 he was a Soviet prisoner of war and attended the Antifa school in Minsk .
After returning to Germany, he joined the SED . From 1948 to 1950 he was employed at VEB Tonwerk Dommitzsch, initially as a worker, then as a buyer and finally as an operations assistant. After attending the Gotha Business School in 1950, he studied at the German Administration Academy in Forst Zinna until 1952 and then worked as an assistant, then plant manager at the VEB Schamottewerk Rietschen .
Briksa became a full-time party official in 1953. Until 1955 he was secretary for economics and until 1956 first secretary of the SED district leadership in Weißwasser (successor to Heinz Krüger ). From 1956 to 1960 Briksa studied at the Academy of Social Sciences of the CPSU in Moscow . From 1960 he was a member of the Central Committee of the SED , from 1962 to 1972 head of the light and food industry department (successor to Paul Sonnenburg ). At the same time he was a member of the Bureau for Industry and Construction at the Politburo. From November 22, 1972 to November 18, 1989 (his 65th birthday), he served as Minister for Trade and Supply .

- 1978 Honorary title of Honored Employee in Commerce in the German Democratic Republic
- 1984 Gold Medal for the Patriotic Order of Merit
