Gerhard Fritsche (born September 27, 1916 in Berlin , † November 4, 1965 in Leverkusen ) was a German architect who was best known for his cinema buildings.

Life

Fritsche was born in 1916 as the son of the builder Max Fritsche. He studied architecture from 1936 to 1938 and then worked from 1938 to 1940 in the Rudolf Kühn architectural office . From 1946 to 1950 he was involved in building projects with his father Max Fritsche.

In 1950 he opened his first own architectural office in Berlin. From 1951 to 1961 he was involved in 17 cinema projects and several commercial buildings. In 1961 he moved to Düsseldorf and died in Leverkusen in 1965. In September / October 2014 an exhibition was dedicated to him in the student village Schlachtensee .
