Gerhard Kalmring (born January 18, 1919 in Erfurt ) is a former German functionary of the GDR block party LDPD . He was a member of the People's Chamber , first chairman of the Erfurt district association of the LDPD and deputy chairman of the Erfurt district council.

Life

Kalmring, the son of an employee, attended elementary school and secondary school . He learned the profession of typesetter . After his apprenticeship, he worked as a management assistant in a printing company .

In 1945 he joined the Liberal Democratic Party of Germany (LDP, later LDPD). From 1945 to 1953 he worked in the city administration of Erfurt as a deputy head of department, head of department and from 1950 as mayor . Kalmring completed a distance learning course at the German Academy for Political Science and Law and passed the state examination in law. From 1953 to 1967 he was Deputy Chairman of the Erfurt District Council . Subsequently, he was head of the rationalization office of the Berlin district directorate of the wholesale company (GHG) “everyday goods”.

From 1953 to 1959 he was the first chairman of the Erfurt district association of the LDPD and from 1953 to 1955 he was an assessor and member of the political committee of the central board of the LDPD. From 1955 Kalmring was a member of the Erfurt district board of the Society for German-Soviet Friendship (DSF), later its deputy chairman.

From 1950 to 1953 he was a city councilor in Erfurt, from 1954 to 1963 a member of the Erfurt District Assembly and from April 1954 to 1958 a member of the People's Chamber of the GDR (replacement for the member of parliament Alois Hoffmann ). From 1970 he was a member of the Berlin-Lichtenberg district assembly .

On March 31, 1966 Kalmring took along with the Erfurt LDPD officials Reinhold Heinicke and Joachim Radecker in the English Church in Bad Homburg in an all-German panel discussion with Deputy FDP chairpersons Wolfgang Mischnick and its party colleagues Klausenhorn and Gottfried Voitel part .
