Gerhard Kneifel
Gerhard Kneifel (born May 26, 1927 in Trebbin ; † June 20, 1992 in Leipzig ) was a German composer , arranger and orchestra leader.
Kneifel learned the accordion at the age of eight . From 1946 to 1948 he studied trombone , double bass and composition at the Stern Conservatory . From 1948 he worked for radio and the record industry; In 1960 he directed the Leipzig Radio Dance Orchestra . He composed songs, chansons and stage works such as the operetta Schwarze Perle (1961) and the musical Bretter That Mean the World (1970) . Between 1963 and 1967 he worked as chief ranger at the Berlin Friedrichstadtpalast , for which he wrote the revue Der Mann, der Dr. Watson was writing. He recorded records with his own dance music for Amiga and accompanied Manfred Krug ( I know a girl , 1965) with his orchestra, among others .
