Gerhard Lawrentz

Gerhard Lawrentz (born October 8, 1945 in Buttstädt , Weimar district ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

Gerhard Lawrentz attended a grammar school in Berlin and passed his Abitur in 1966 . In 1964 he joined the CDU. He studied history and Slavic studies , in 1974 he passed the state examination for the office of the Academic Council . Lawrentz became a lecturer at the adult education center in the Steglitz district . In the Berlin election in 1981 he was elected to the District Assembly (BVV) in the Schöneberg district. In the next election in 1985 he was initially elected to the Berlin House of Representatives for the direct mandate in the constituency of Schöneberg 3 , but resigned in September 1985 because BVV Schöneberg elected him to the district councilor for public education. After the legislative period in 1989, he resigned and worked again at the adult education center in Steglitz.

From 1991 to 2000 Lawrentz was the chairman of the CDU Schöneberg. In the BVV election in 1992 he was re-elected to the district councilor in Schöneberg, and from 1996 to 1998 he was general secretary of the CDU Berlin . Even after the district reform in 2001, he was still a district councilor in the Tempelhof-Schöneberg district . In 2003 he was again General Secretary of the CDU Berlin, because Kai Wegner had surprisingly failed at the state party conference .
