Gerhard Pridöhl

Gerhard Pridöhl (born October 12, 1936 in Greifswald ) is a German writer and journalist .

After finishing school in Greifswald, Gerhard Pridöhl was trained as a forestry worker in Malchow . He then attended the workers and farmers faculty at the University of Greifswald . After that, he worked in various activities, including as a construction worker, in transport, in agriculture and as a home manager. He worked as a mechanizer at an LPG in Klein Bünzow and learned the trade of a motor vehicle fitter.

Even during the GDR era, he was working part-time for local newspapers. After 1989 he worked as a freelance journalist for the Pommersche Zeitung as well as for Ostsee-Zeitung and Nordkurier . He wrote several books. In it he describes anecdotes and historical events from Western Pomerania , especially from the area around Anklam, and Mecklenburg .
