Gerhard wish
Gerhard Wunsch (born November 9, 1924 in Degow , Pomerania Province ; † 2020 ) was a German electrical engineer and professor of electrical engineering .
Life
Wunsch began his apprenticeship as an electrician in the Körlin machine factory in 1941 , did military service in 1943 and worked as an electrician at Mohr in Plön in 1945/46 .
From 1946 he attended the engineering school in Wismar , passed his engineering examination in 1949 and worked as a laboratory engineer at the telecommunications plant in Berlin-Oberschöneweide in 1949/50 .
In 1950 he began his studies of electrical engineering at the TH Dresden , where he earned his degree in 1955, then his postgraduate ableistete and 1959 under George Mierdel his doctorate with the work outline of a general theory of all-passes purchased. From 1959 to 1963 he was an assistant and lecturer for introduction to electrical engineering. During this time he also held a lectureship in theoretical electrical engineering at the Institute for General Electrical Engineering at the TH / TU Dresden. After his habilitation in 1962 at the TU Dresden, he worked as a part-time research assistant at the VEB vibration technology and acoustics Dresden in 1962/63.
In 1963 he became a lecturer in theoretical electrical engineering at the Institute for General Electrical Engineering and in 1965 professor with a teaching position for theoretical electrical engineering and mathematical methods for electrical engineering. From 1969 until his retirement in 1990 he was full professor for systems theory at the information technology section of the TU Dresden.
He worked hard to mathematize engineering education. Since his retirement, in particular, he has devoted himself to the development of a general process theory in which the results of the theory of dynamic systems, the theory of random processes and his own work on the algebraically based state theory are uniformly summarized.
In 1968 the request was the Medal of Merit and in 1976 the National Prize of the GDR III. Class for science and technology , in 1989 the honorary doctorate from the University of Wismar and in 1993 from the Bergische Universität Wuppertal and in 1996 the Karl Küpfmüller Prize from the ITG .
