Germano Grachane

Germano Grachane CM (born May 4, 1942 in Zandamela ) is a Mozambican religious and emeritus Roman Catholic bishop of Nacala .

Life

Germano Grachane joined the Order of the Lazarists and was ordained a priest on May 24, 1970 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Nampula and titular bishop of Thunusuda on January 22, 1990 . The Archbishop of Nampula, Manuel Vieira Pinto , donated him episcopal ordination on June 3 of the same year; Co- consecrators were Paulo Mandlate SSS , Bishop of Tete , and Júlio Duarte Langa , Bishop of Xai-Xai .

On October 11, 1991 he was appointed the first bishop of the diocese of Nacala , established on the same date . On April 25, 2018, Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation.
