Paulo Mandlate

Paulo Mandlate SSS (born February 4, 1934 in Macupalane, Manjacaze , Gaza Province , Portuguese East Africa , † August 21, 2019 in Maputo ) was a Mozambican religious and bishop of Tete .

Life

Paulo Mandlate joined the religious community of the Eucharist and was ordained priest on January 6, 1968 .

Pope Paul VI appointed him Bishop of Tete on May 31, 1976. The episcopal consecration donated him the coadjutor bishop of Beira , Jaime Pedro Gonçalves , on September 26th of the same year; Co- consecrators were Luís Gonzaga Ferreira da Silva SJ , Bishop of Lichinga , and Alberto Setele , Bishop of Inhambane .

On April 18, 2009 Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related retirement.
