Augusto César Alves Ferreira da Silva CM (born March 15, 1932 in Fervença , Celorico de Basto ) is former bishop of Portalegre-Castelo Branco .

Life

Augusto César Alves Ferreira da Silva joined the religious order of the Lazarists and was ordained a priest on July 24, 1960 . Pope Paul VI appointed him Bishop of Tete on February 19, 1972 .

The Patriarch of Lisbon and Military Vicar of Portugal António Ribeiro donated him episcopal ordination on May 21 of the same year ; Co -consecrators were Archbishop António de Castro Xavier Monteiro , auxiliary bishop in Lisbon, and Manuel Marilla Ferreira da Silva , auxiliary bishop in Goa and Daman . He resigned from his office on May 31, 1976.

On September 25, 1978 he was appointed Bishop of Portalegre-Castelo Branco . He resigned from this office on April 22, 2004.
