The diocese of Lichinga ( Latin Dioecesis Lichingaensis , Portuguese Diocese de Lichinga ) is in Mozambique situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Lichinga .

history

The diocese of Lichinga was on July 21, 1963 by Pope Paul VI. established with the Apostolic Constitution Nampulensis from cessions of territory of the diocese of Nampula as the diocese of Vila Cabral . On July 29, 1976, the diocese Vila Cabral was renamed the Diocese of Lichinga .

The diocese of Lichinga is subordinate to the Archdiocese of Nampula as a suffragan .
