career

Gino Ferrin joined Tennis Borussia Berlin in 1969 through SV Schöneberg and BFC Südring . In the fifth year in the Regionalliga Berlin , 1973/74 , he won the championship with the "Veilchen" and moved into the last Bundesliga promotion round in 1974. The team of coach Georg Gawliczek prevailed against the rivals FC Augsburg , Rot-Weiß Oberhausen , Borussia Neunkirchen and FC St. Pauli and rose to the Bundesliga . Ferrin had played six games and scored one goal in the promotion round. In the 1974/75 Bundesliga season he played six games alongside teammates Hubert Birkenmeier , Ditmar Jakobs , Karl-Heinz Schnellinger and Norbert Stolzenburg for the Berlin team, who had to return to the second division after just one year. After relegation in 1975 he moved to FC St. Pauli , for whom he played 72 games in the 2nd Bundesliga North between 1975 and 1979 , scoring two goals. In the 1976/77 season he celebrated the 2nd league championship and thus promotion to the Bundesliga with coach Diethelm Ferner and his teammates Jürgen Rynio , Dietmar Demuth , Walter Frosch , Walter Oswald and Franz Gerber . In the promotion round, the ex-Berliner had completed 26 games for the Millerntor team. Ferrin struggled with injuries and was out of the Bundesliga for half a year, making only four appearances.

After relegation, St. Pauli and coach Sepp Piontek came in sixth in the 1978/79 round in the 2nd division - Ferrin had played 29 games - and was thus able to show a satisfactory starting position. In the summer of 1979, however, the DFB announced a license withdrawal against St. Pauli and the 32-year-old went back to the amateur camp with the hamburgers.

In 1980 he switched to the HSV amateurs, shortly afterwards he began a coaching career in Berlin youth and amateur football.
