Gino Paro

Gino Paro (born June 17, 1910 in Ponte di Piave , Treviso Province , Italy ; † September 21, 1988 ) was a Roman Catholic Archbishop and Vatican diplomat .

Life

Gino Paro received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Treviso on July 5, 1936 .

On August 31, 1962, Pope John XXIII appointed him . the titular bishop of Diocaesarea in Isauria and ordered him president of the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy in Rome . The Cardinal Secretary of State, Jean-Marie Cardinal Villot , donated him episcopal ordination on October 7th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the secretary of the Holy Congregation for the Extraordinary Affairs of the Church, Archbishop Agostino Casaroli , and the secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples , Archbishop Sergio Pignedoli .

On May 5, 1969, Pope Paul VI appointed him . Titular Archbishop of Torcello and appointed him Apostolic Delegate in Australia and Papua New Guinea . Gino Paro became Apostolic Pro-Nuncio in Australia on July 3, 1973 . On June 10, 1978 Paro resigned as Apostolic Pro-Nuncio in Australia and Apostolic Delegate in Papua New Guinea.

Gino Paro participated in all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
