Gion Clau Vincenz

Gion Clau Vincenz (born April 6, 1921 in Andiast ; † October 28, 2014 ) was a Swiss politician ( CVP ).

Life

Vincenz holds a diploma in agricultural engineering and a doctorate in technical sciences from the ETH Zurich . From 1950 to 1960 he was head of the Graubünden central office for dairy farming and a teacher at the Plantahof agricultural school in Landquart . From 1952 he was also an alpine inspector. From 1960 to 1986 he was manager of the Volg in Chur. From 1961 to 1979 he presided over the Bündner Bauernverband.

His political career began in 1963 when he was elected to the Grand Council of the Canton of Graubünden for the CVP . He held this position until 1969. From June 4, 1968 to June 1, 1979 he was a Council of States .

Gion Clau Vincenz was a member of several boards of directors. From 1984 to 1992 he was Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Swiss Association of Raiffeisenkassen (today: Raiffeisen Switzerland). His son Pierin Vincenz was chairman of the executive board (CEO) from 1999 to 2015.
