Giorgi Shermadini ( Georgian გიორგი შერმადინი ; * 2. April 1989 in Mtskheta ) is a Georgian basketball player , the m with a height of 2.16 on the position of the center plays.

Career

Giorgi Schermadini began his career in the youth department of Maccabi Tbilisi. After he steadily improved his values ​​in the following years and ended the 2007/2008 season with 33.5 points and 18.4 rebounds on average, the Greek top club Panathinaikos Athens became aware of the now 19-year-old Georgian. In October 2008 Shermadini traveled to Greece to do a trial training in Athens. After he had successfully completed this, Panathinaikos took him under contract. In 2009 he won the first professional title of his career with the Greek club cup .

National team

With the U-16 national team of Georgia Schermadini took part in the European Championship 2005 in Bulgaria. In 2006, Schermadini made his debut at the age of 17 as the youngest player in the history of the Georgian men's national team.
