Giorgio Moser

Giorgio Moser (born October 9, 1923 in Trento , † September 25, 2004 in Rome ) was an Italian documentary filmmaker , film director and screenwriter .

Life

Moser graduated in law , worked as a journalist after the Second World War and traveled through African countries, from whose experiences he reported on film in documentaries. Also working as a film critic for “Italia Nuova”, he has been active in the feature film sector since 1944 as an idea generator, screenwriter and assistant director . In the early 1950s, he shot the documentary series International Police for American television . In 1954 he was one of the initiators of the film Continente perduto with Enrico Gras and Leonardo Bonzi , which he also wrote and which thematized the situation in Indonesia at the time. He accompanied the filming with articles in the weekly magazine "Tempo". For his own company he then shot Reunion on Capri , the sentimental love story of an American pilot in Italy who falls in love with a married local who has won several awards at film festivals, such as the Golden Bear in Berlin in 1956.
