Giorgio Sernagiotto

Giorgio Sernagiotto (born July 28, 1981 in Treviso ) is an Italian racing driver .

Racing career

Giorgio Sernagiotto started motorsport early in his life. His father worked as a driving instructor for rally drivers and had his son compete in kart races when he was 10 years old . About junior championships he came as an 18-year-old in the South Garda Winter Cup ICA 1999 , which he finished third.

In 2000, he switched to single-seaters with success in Formula Ford . He won the Italian Formula Ford 1600 Championship in 2000 and the 1800 Series Championship in 2001 . This was followed by starts in Formula Renault and Formula 3 , where he was unable to build on these successes.

He was active in the Ferrari Challenge for many years . In 2009 he won the Italian championship of this racing series.

With the Italian racing team Villorba Corse and his friend Roberto Lacorte , he entered the European Le Mans Series in 2015 , where his previous placements brought him fifth overall at the 2017 Monza 4-hour race and the Algarve 4-hour race in the same year were. In 2017 he made his debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans with ninth place . In 2018 , he finished 19th overall in this endurance race .
