Giulio Sanguineti (born February 20, 1932 in Lavagna , metropolitan city of Genoa , Italy ) is former bishop of Brescia .

Life

Giulio Sanguineti was ordained a priest on May 29, 1955 and was incardinated in the clergy of the Diocese of Chiavari .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Savona e Noli on December 15, 1980 . The Pope personally donated him episcopal ordination on January 6 of the next year ; Co-consecrators were Archbishop Giovanni Canestri , Auxiliary Bishop in Rome , and Belchior Joaquim da Silva Neto CM , Bishop of Luz .

On December 7, 1989, he was appointed bishop of La Spezia-Sarzana-Brugnato . He was also chairman of the board of directors of Avvenire magazine . On December 19, 1998, he was appointed Bishop of Brescia . On July 19, 2007, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related resignation.
