Alyson "Aly" Kay Wagner (born August 10, 1980 in San José , California ) is a former American soccer player . She played ten years for the US national team and most recently for Los Angeles Sol in the WPS .

life and career

Wagner attended Presentation High School in her hometown, then Santa Clara University and took part with the Santa Clara Broncos college team in the NCAA Women's Soccer Championship , in which she scored the 1-0 winning goal in the 2001 final, making the Broncos theirs so far won only NCAA title. She received several awards.

Wagner took part in the Nordic Cup with the U-21 team in 1999, 2000 (held in Germany ) and 2002 . In 1999 she scored two goals in a group game in a 3-0 win against Germany . In 2000, she also scored two goals in the group game against Sweden, this time to equalize and equalize 1: 1 or 2: 2. It was also used in the final, which was won 1-0 against Germany.

In 2007 she was part of the squad that won the Algarve Cup, scoring the goal for the USA in the two games against Canada and Sweden, which ended 1-1. She was also nominated for the World Cup in China , but only used in the game for third place.

Although she was operated on in February 2008 after a double hernia, she came back to work in June and was also called up to the squad for the Olympic Games in Beijing . There she was only substituted on in the last group game against New Zealand. She made her last international match on November 8, 2008 in a 1-0 win against South Korea. It was still part of the 2009 player pool, but was no longer used. On January 24, 2010, the end of her professional career was announced.

She is married to Adam Eyre , a former Miami Fusion and New England Revolution professional footballer . Her siblings also played football in college, and after seeing her brother Jeff triathlon , she also took part in triathlon competitions in 2005.
