Giuseppe Maria Vespignani

Giuseppe Maria Vespignani (born February 24, 1800 in Rome , † February 2, 1865 in Orvieto ) was an Italian Roman Catholic clergyman , Curia Archbishop and Bishop of Orvieto .

Life

Born in the family of Count Vespignani, he received the sacrament of ordination on December 21, 1822 . He was at the Gregoriana for doctor of philosophy doctorate and then received a canonry of the chapter Basilica of St. John Lateran . In 1831 he became His Holiness's House Prelate .

Pope Gregory XVI appointed him on June 23, 1834 titular Archbishop of Tyana . He was ordained bishop on October 12 of the same year in Velletri by Cardinal Dean Bartolomeo Pacca , Cardinal Bishop of Ostia and Velletri ; Co- consecrators were Bernardino Panzacchi OFMObs , Bishop of Terracina, Priverno and Sezze and Geraldo Macioti , Auxiliary Bishop in Ostia and Velletri. Gregory XVI. appointed him on June 23, 1834 secretary of the Congregation for the Examination of Bishops and secretary of the Congregation for Water Supply and Road Construction. He was also a member of the Council Congregation from May 20, 1834 . On June 5, 1841, he became vice- gentleman of Rome as deputy to Cardinal Vicar Giuseppe Della Porta Rodiani . On January 24, 1842, he finally became Bishop of Orvieto with the personal title of Archbishop .

After 23 years in the episcopate, he died in Orvieto.
