The Glasgow Evangelical Church , formerly Barony North Church , is the church building of an evangelical congregation in the Scottish city of Glasgow . In 1970 the building was included in the Scottish monument lists in the highest monument category A. It is also part of a more comprehensive category A monument ensemble.

history

The Scottish architect John Honeyman provided the design for the new church in 1878 . It was built for the United Presbyterian Church of Scotland , which eventually merged with the Church of Scotland . The total cost was £ 9,924. In 1901 the building was redesigned. With the amalgamation of the parish, the then Barony North Church replaced the nearby Trinity Duke Street Church . Eventually the building itself became obsolete and is now used by an evangelical congregation.
