Glasgow Govan was a constituency for the Scottish Parliament . It was introduced in 1999 as one of ten constituencies in the Glasgow electoral region , which was redesigned as part of the constituencies' revision in 2011 and now only comprises nine constituencies. Here the constituency of Glasgow Govan was abolished. It included the western Glasgow boroughs, including Ibrox , Govan , Pollokshaws , Pollokshields and Shieldhall, and sent one MP. Most of the areas of Glasgow Govan are now assigned to the constituencies of Glasgow Cathcart , Glasgow Pollok and Glasgow Southside . In the 2001 census survey, a total of 60,393 people lived within its borders.
