Feldmann & Marschel was a bell foundry based in the Westphalian city of Münster . The company buildings were in Loddenheide (Albersloher Weg 100, Hall C, Block 46). Company owners were Josef Feldmann (1894–1979) and his son-in-law Georg Marschel (1911–1968). The company existed from 1950 to 1968.

history

Josef Feldmann previously worked as a bell founder at Petit & Gebr. Edelbrock in Gescher . He then went into business for himself and founded his own company on January 1, 1950; the company opened on May 24, 1950, and the business was registered on March 7, 1951. The company later got into financial difficulties, from December 5, 1960 the name changed to bell foundry Monasterium Eijsbouts KG . On March 22, 1968, the company was deregistered retroactively to December 31, 1967, and the company documents were taken over by the Eifeler bell foundry in Brockscheid .

The main work was the new casting of the cathedral bells in Münster in 1956 , the largest cast single bell is the cardinal (fis 0 , 7604 kg).

With the takeover and renaming to "Monasterium Eijsbouts" , iron reinforcements were poured into the crowns of the bells. The rusting of these reinforcements causes irreparable permanent damage. Such cases were found on the bells of the Church of the Resurrection in Münster in summer 2009; they were replaced by new ones at Easter 2010. As early as 1995, the same damage to several bell crowns from the year 1961 was found on bells. So found in St. Laurentius in Giesel by cracking in the bells and in St. Antonius in Münster . The bells affected here were replaced by new ones by the parish in 1997.
