The Gmina Biskupiec is a rural community in the powiat Nowomiejski of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship in Poland . The seat is in the town of the same name ( German : Bischofswerder ) with 1913 inhabitants (2010).
geography
The eponymous place is located in the northeast of the historic Kulmerland on the right bank of the Osa (Ossa) at a height of 80 m above sea level, about 23 km south of Susz (Rosenberg) and 38 km southeast of Kwidzyn (Marienwerder) . The municipality has an area of 241 km². The Ossa formed the border with the Polish Corridor in 1920-1939 .

Since the town not far away is also called Biskupiec (Bishop's Castle) , the Polish railway PKP calls the local train station Biskupiec Pomorski , the other one - on the Czerwonka – Ełk railway line - as Biskupiec Reszelski . The local one is in the village of Bielice on the Toruń – Iława railway line .
The community is connected to the transport network via the overland road 538.
