The Gmina Warka is an urban-and-rural municipality in the powiat Grójecki in the Masovian Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is the city of the same name with around 11,950 inhabitants.
geography
Warsaw is about 40 kilometers north and the city of Radom 30 kilometers south. Neighboring municipalities are: Białobrzegi , Chynów , Góra Kalwaria , Grabów nad Pilicą , Jasieniec , Magnuszew , Promna , Sobienie-Jeziory , Stromiec and Wilga .
The Pilica runs through the south of the municipality, where it partly forms the border. In the northeast the municipality borders on the Vistula .
history
The rural community was formed in 1973. Urban and rural communities were merged to form urban and rural communities in 1990/1991. From 1975 to 1998, its area was part of the Radom Voivodeship .
